This pink or that pink or the other one?

Let's play a game. It's called, Change Your Mind 55 Times On A Paint Color
In The One Room We Wanted To Trim First. We have mastered it.
The girls' bath. From the very beginning I wanted a fun, pale pink. Their bedrooms are neutral and I thought having a girly color in their shared bath would be perfect. Without knowing my plans, our decorator suggested a beautiful coral color. Fate! The color had enough tan undertones to not look too bright or orangey, but was still pretty and girly and fun. So we bought a gallon. (Second swatch from left, fourth color down.) Aaand then we started doubting ourselves. Beautiful color, but maybe it's too saturated? Too dark? Might overwhelm the small space?

Back to the paint store, home with two sample quarts. (Second swatch from left, top color and the one below that.) I painted a couple pieces of cardboard, we chose one of the colors, (the second one down) bought a gallon, and up on the wall it went.

Yay! Pink on the wall! It's going to be so pretty!
And then I walked back in after the whole room had been painted. And the walls were all Hello We Are Reeeaaallllllyyy Pink.
And we kinda sorta hated it. It was on the same paint swatch as the original color, but the lighter shade took out the tan tones and apparently brought out its pinkness. I didn't want bubblegum, and that's what we had.

The conversation with N was funny.
"Hey, I finished the first coat in the girls' bath."
"Oh great! That's awesome!"
"Uhh, yeah. You might want to, uhh, go go look at it."
Ruh roh.

So we threw even more paint on the wall, the original color and some of the almost-chosen-in-the-second-round color (that one is such a pale pink that it looks white in this pic).
We ignored them for a couple days. Then, this morning, we finally committed. The winner? The original deep coral color. Ha! Of course.
Ahh, much better. Hello, lovely coral. (Pic above is a pretty good representation of the color.)
Much darker in the above photo than it is in person. In real life it's beeeeeaaaauuuutimus. Thank goodness. And if you look through that doorway into what will eventually be the nursery, I think it goes wonderfully with that wall color too.
"What the heck took you so long, Mom?"

And with that, our final outstanding room without finish paint is painted. Let the trim adventure begin.
