Saturday

Well, yesterday was an adventure. A plumbing issue kept N unexpectedly busy all day, and A and I hanging out with no water while running to and from the whole-house water shut-off valve in the basement as directed. Up the stairs down the stairs up the stairs down the stairs...mama got her workout in. :) As a bonus, I am well versed about our main water shut off now. Got a water emergency? I'M ON IT.

We had some fun playing with ice cubes...
...and playing hopscotch with all of our carpet samples.
Visited a couple tile shops on Friday and another yesterday. Nothing is for sure yet, but we are thinking this for the tubs/showers (the white color at the bottom):
And here is a floor tile option next to it (with paint color swatches laying on top):
Countertop might be a quartz in kind of a medium beige/brown color. Here are all three. Ignore the granite and slate behind the samples. I was trying to set everything up next to an oil rubbed bronze fixture.
That countertop would look great with ORB faucets on top, don't you think?

And here's the cute plumber. Working tirelessly to get what the experts at ThisOldHouse.com said "should be easy for any homeowner to do" to function correctly.
It didn't, unfortunately. Although it did come, at 11:30pm no less, with a hilarious water-gushing-and-me-screaming-and-plugging-pipes-with-my-fingers moment. It was awesome. In one of those, this is so terrible it's funny, type of moments. It's 2pm right now on Sunday and our service request to Roto Rooter late last night still hasn't been fulfilled. So the water is still off. Sigh.

But in other news, the demo has started of the guts of the baths! Bye bye countertop and sink.
Bye bye shower tile.
Hmm. I think we need a dumpster. Didn't think about that. Lack of planning. Story of our life with this remodel.
Demo of floor tile and removal of toilets are next. Along with hopefully taking a shower and washing our hands without having to use wet wipes...
