Videos

A bundle of random videos. None of them are incredibly exciting, just everyday run-of-the-mill Addyness. Enjoy!

(Reminder that if you would like to view the videos larger, open them in YouTube by clicking on their titles, then you can expand them full screen.)

Tummy time.

More tummy time. There's just something so cute about it. :)

Miss A and I walk every morning. With the mega-hot temperatures lately, there must be something startling about coming inside to the AC from the heat, as she will often sit in her seat with her eyes wide for a couple minutes, looking hilarious.

Puppy kisses!

Talking and wiggling on the couch.

Daddy's golfing today, so us ladies are just hanging on the couch. Happy weekend!

Growing

I feel like she's getting so long!

Happy Wednesday :)

Lifejacket smiles

Sunday afternoon visit to Bass Pro nabbed Miss A her very own lifejacket. I think she likes it. :)

(Very first smiles caught on camera! Score.)

And because photos aren't enough, we shot a quick video, too. :)

You can't make the videos full screen within this site, for some reason. If you'd like them bigger, click the title of the video to open it in YouTube. Once there, you should be able to make it full screen.

Shower at Cernerland

Two wonderful ladies on Nathan's team at work threw a shower for Addy on Friday afternoon. Cupcakes and a dozen+ Cerner employees.

Everyone on the team was instructed to bring diapers, and that is certainly what they did.
 Cancel that Amazon.com autoshipment!

We took the top off of the diaper cake when we arrived home...it had a champagne support system! Genius.

One guy from the team decided to go a different route than diapers...a bottle of booze for Dad. The tag reads: "CONGRATS Nate & Annie on welcoming little Addy. 6/22/12 From: Patrick"

The other side was even better: ":-) Medicine for Dad. Doubles as teething aid for baby. (Not evaluated by the FDA.) Also reduces likelihood of Mom's headaches." So creative, eh?

Lots of fun and one pooped out party girl.

Sleep at 6 weeks

The little one has been sleeping pretty well lately. She typically falls asleep while lounging on the couch with us in the evenings, I change her and feed her around 10 or 11, swaddle her up, then she's out until 5-6am. Yay for uninterrupted sleep! For both of us. :)

After she eats in the morning I bring her back to bed with me, and she'll often lay quietly with her eyes wide open, sometimes even falling back asleep.

Last night? 11pm to 6:45am. Go girly, go!

Doggie snuggles

Can't wait until A is old enough to interact and respond to Juta. It's gonna be fun. :)

Des Moines weekend, part 3

A few additional photos from the weekend...
Perschau gals.
Auntie Jill!
Staring wide-eyed out the window after all of the excitement.
Saturday night with the Perschau's, tuckered out in my party dress.
Cousins Allexa and Katelynn.

This turned out a bit blurrier than I thought, but a quick video of the fun and silliness of a Sorensen grandbaby photo shoot. The things adults will say to get kids to smile. :)

And 48 hours later, we're back at home. Phew! Fun weekend. Back again for the 4th of July...

Des Moines weekend, part 2

Shower day! Spent the morning with the Sorensen's, meeting her cousins for the first time, and then showered it up with her Aunts Karen and Kristen, many friends of Grandma S, and extended Sorensen family.

Addy was grateful for all of the loot she was gifted, frilly dresses and books and all.
Snuggles with cousins Allexa
and Connor.
Grandma S!
Auntie Kristen, diaper cake "baker" extraordinaire.
A tuckered out guest of honor.

Des Moines weekend, part 1

Addy's first road trip! She slept the entire trip and Friday evening was spent snuggling with Grandma and Grandpa P and Auntie Jill, and meeting Great Aunt Rosemary, Great Uncle Don, and Great Grandma for the first time!

Addy's only great grandparent...pretty special.

A few pics...

Questions

Do I look worried?
It's Friday today, right?
Where did my clothes go?
Why is Mommy packing?
Where are we going?
I wonder where my paci is?
Mmm, that poop felt nice...

Take it to court

We were hanging out for a little tummy time, she was making funny faces, I was randomly snapping photos, and then it happened...it's official: The Dimple now has photographic proof of its existence.

Dun dun dun!

Play date with Aspen

Miss Addy had a play date today with her girlfriend Aspen!

Aspen's mom's name is Amy, so it was Annie and Addy and Amy and Aspen. It was an A filled afternoon.

Aspen is six and a half months old...she seems so big! The photos do prove one thing: Addy is looong.

The mommies drank coffee and talked about their babies while their babies ate and cooed and pooped and played. Hope to do it again soon.
(Ruh roh. Play date crankiness.)
Look, we're kinda holding hands!

Month 1 update

Happy 1 month birthday, sweet pea!
You are officially one month and three days old, and you have changed so much since we brought you home. Where do we even begin?

You've changed physically - your hair is blonder, your eyes are bluer, and you started filling out a couple weeks ago (although you are still a skinny baby). You now have all sorts of tiny folds and crevices that turn bath time into a treasure hunt.
We haven't measured you, but you're definitely getting longer. Although most of your 0-3 month clothes are still way too big, your newborn clothes are getting more snug by the day. Your eye contact, which really began after your first week, has taken another big leap the past few days. You stare and stare, and we stare and stare back.
It has been so fun getting to know the little pieces of your personality. The arching of your back, pursing of your lips (both of which we saw you doing via ultrasound before you were born, which boggles our minds), and wide-handed flailing of your arms.

We laugh daily at you while you're eating. Especially when you feed via a bottle, you get a dazed look in your eyes, pull your arms up to your face, clench your hands into fists, and chug-a-lug. We call it your chugging position. You can go from full-on screaming to chugging position with the addition of a bottle in about .2 seconds.

 (Spit-up alert!)
Speaking of eating, you are a spit-up queen, a not-so-lovely trait that you picked up from your Mama. Sometimes we go through a couple outfits and half a dozen burp cloths a day, and everything in the house from the couch to the dog has been christened with your little explosions.

Your cries have changed, too. Before you would grunt and flail and slowly build up to a soft whimper. A week or two ago you decided to find your voice, and are now capable of going from slightly irritated and grunting to wailing like the world is ending in the blink of an eye. You also have a couple new screeches, just added to your repertoire during the past week, that we're working on interpreting.
You are much pickier lately about your location. Bouncy chair? NO. Carry me around? YES! Actually, you are still a big fan of your bouncy chair, but for some reason your swing is becoming less and less popular. The majority of the time, however, you just want to be held. Infuriating at times when I have spent hours working around the house with you and just want both hands back, but lovely at the same time. I'm sure, quickly, the time will come when snuggling with Mama just isn't a priority.

I'm sure there is so much more to share. Perhaps I'll remember it all when you decide to bless us again with a full night's sleep. :)

On to month 2! Can't wait.
